Taster Sessions

Woodwork taster sessions give you the time and space to have a go at being creative.  You will be guided through making a simple box that you will take home at the end of the session.

The day taster session involves making a box with simple joints.  This would be ideal for someone who has no previous woodworking experience or it has been a number of years since making anything with hand tools.  There is the opportunity to use a saw, learn how to mark out accurately, use a block plane and smoothing plane, and the safe use of chisels.

You will be shown how to:

• • • Mark out the individual pieces
    • Cut out the ends, sides and base
    • Assemble and glue the box together
    • Add a wax finish.
